Torsion bars (torsion bar springs)
Torsion bars (torsion bar springs) are components that act as springs through their elastic twisting. Ernst Grob is one of the few suppliers able to produce them by forming in the required quality.
What is a torsion bar?
A torsion bar, also known as a torsion bar spring, is a bar that is subjected to twisting (torsion). Through this elastic twisting, it stores torque.
Advantages
- Material savings by reducing the pre-machining diameter to the desired final dimension.
- Higher strength: During forming, the material grain flow is not interrupted. In addition, the material undergoes work hardening.
