S8 slotting machine

Slotting at its best

The S8 Slotting Machine is a very compact and modular system for slotting, coining, cutting to length and forming cup-shaped or ring-shaped sheet-metal components. It stands out for its highly versatile application options, short cycle and changeover times, strong process stability and very low tool costs. This makes it suitable for various applications in the automotive, appliance and mechanical engineering sectors where high quality and low manufacturing costs are required.

Machine-specific application possibilities

The S8 Slotting Machine is used wherever complex slotting and coining operations need to be performed on cylindrical and/or internally splined hollow parts, such as transmission components for vehicles or sheet-metal parts with functional elements. Typical operations include cutting sheet-metal parts to length, slotting holes, openings or grooves, coining features (for example oil baffles or assembly aids in clutch carrier plates) or bending operations (such as bending tabs). Since the S8 operates with a mechanical slotting stroke with a defined end position, combined slotting and coining operations can also be performed – for example for producing retaining-ring grooves in clutch carriers. Depending on the application, the slotting direction can be chosen from inside to outside or vice versa. The machine can be equipped with 1 to 4 slotting stations with integrated, fully automatic workpiece transfer.

FAQ

How flexible is the slotting process?

The process is CNC-controlled. The slotting direction can be selected, and the indexing, number of strokes and vertical stroke position can be freely programmed.

How many stations can the S8 be equipped with?

The S8 can be configured with 1 to 4 stations.

Is the S8 suitable for series production?

Yes. The S8 is designed to be integrated simply and universally into production lines or cells.

What are the advantages of a mechanically defined slotting stroke?

A mechanically defined slotting stroke enables combined slotting and coining operations, such as those required for retaining-ring grooves.

What types of parts can be processed on the S8 Slotting Machine?

A wide range of cup-shaped or ring-shaped sheet-metal components can be processed on the S8.

Which control systems are available?

The machine can be equipped with either Fanuc or Siemens control.

Which operations can be performed with the S8 Slotting Machine?

Typical operations include slotting, coining, cutting to length, forming and bending.
